Provision and co-ordination of marine support to operational and new built FPSOs and Base Personnel taking into account the corporate and HSEQ policies.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Direct the Marine Supervisors.
• Set and maintain the corporate Marine Philosophy.
• Develop, review and maintain the Corporate Marine manuals.
• Analyse marine problems on offshore installations and to advise offshore and base personnel.
• Provide operational input to tenders and projects involved with the design and development of future F(P)SOs.
• Assess and approve designs and equipment from marine point of view.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP exercises for operational units and new projects and monitor the actual implementation of all recommendations.
• Carry out marine/safety/DP audits of third party vessels which are going to perform operations within the 500 m safety zone of an offshore unit or subsea structure.
• Provide the interface between the Offshore Installation, the Bases and Engineering Department.
• Act as company representative in Industry and governmental bodies.
• Monitor changes in maritime regulations, guidelines and industry standards and promote and stimulate their adoption both inside and outside the Company.
• Assist/work in rota offshore on board F(P)SOs to back-up regular offshore staff if necessary.
• Review and maintain the certification of the crew and apply for the seaman documents.
• Report to and advise the manager Operations Support on a regular basis.
• Be an ad-hoc member of the Emergency Response Organisation.

• BSc. in Marine engineering/Merchant shipping or equivalent.
• Master’s Certificate of Competency, Engineering COW.
• + 10 years experience as Mate or Captain on crude oil tankers or mobile offshore units.
• Trained and certified to visit offshore installations.
• Willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Dynamic Positioning (DP) certificate is preferred.
