Arrangement and Steel Outfitting Engineer

The role

For this interim role Damen Naval is looking for an Arrangement and Steel Outfitting Engineer who can start on short notice on a temporary basis.

As Arrangement and Steel Outfitting Engineer you will work on a broad variety of tasks in the field of structures & outfitting, where outfitting includes arrangements of accommodation and technical spaces.

You will also work in detailed engineering in a multi-disciplinary team but mainly with regards to arrangements and steel outfitting. As Arrangement and Steel Outfitting Engineer you will implement your technical knowledge and practical experience, on subjects as maintainability, producibility and ergonomics etc.

Key accountabilities

As Arrangement and Steel Outfitting Engineer (Project Based) you will:

• Execute engineering activities within the 2D and 3D environments, such as Cadmatic or 3DX.
• Ensure full compliance to all applicable requirements and specifications imposed by Regulatory Bodies and the customer.
• Contribute to the engineering process by developing the required deliverables, such as (statutory) plans according to applicable rules and regulations, complicated arrangements, technical specifications, system descriptions and verification and validation documents.
• Participate in the Product & Proposal phase and verify technical data of vendors and subcontractors.
• Perform technical analysis on received offers under supervision of a senior engineer or team lead.

Skills & experience

As Arrangement and Steel Outfitting Engineer (Project Based) you will need to have:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering or candidates with secondary vocational education (MBO-4+) with relevant ship structures experience are also invited to apply.
• At least two years experience with layouts and technical arrangements and with the engineering of steel outfitting (foundations, stairs, platforms, and railings, etc.).
• Experience with 2D CAD and 3D CAD-systems such as Cadmatic or Catia.
• Knowledge of Class- and Statutory regulations.
• Good command of the English language and preferably German (written & verbal).
• Excellent antecedents because a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent multiyear EU citizenship combined with permanent EU work visa are all requirements of the recruitment process for viable candidates, given the military nature of clients and projects.
