Senior Engineering Leadership – Naval Architecture

In this high-impact position, you will take full leadership responsibility for teams of engineers and naval architects working on large military ships or gig yachts. You will oversee the full engineering lifecycle, supervise interdisciplinary teams, and ensure the technical integrity and timely delivery of projects. Your leadership and communication skills will be crucial in steering engineering direction, aligning stakeholders, and delivering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development of naval or luxury vessels.
• Supervise entire engineering scopes across multiple design and production phases.
• Serve as a technical authority and decision-maker across the project.
• Coordinate between departments such as structure, systems, design, interior, outfitting, and production.
• Provide mentoring, performance management, and knowledge development within the team.
• Manage interaction with clients, classification societies, and shipyard stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, naval requirements, and quality protocols.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering (WO-Bachelor / WO-Master).
• 8+ years of experience in shipbuilding or yacht building, with significant involvement in large or complex vessels and specialist knowledge of concept and basic design
• Strong leadership skills and a track record in managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with project supervision and technical coordination.
• Familiarity with engineering software (CAD/PLM) and regulatory standards (e.g., naval, SOLAS, class rules).
• Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or German is a plus.
• Must be a permanent EU citizen (for naval projects).
