Structural Engineer - Offshore Heavy Lift

Offshore Engineering
We are working with a globally renowned client in the world offshore service industry to recruit for a Structural Engineer to join their Heavy Lift Engineering team in South Holland. You'll work on all preparatory phases of single-lift platform installations and removals using one of the most advanced offshore vessels. Your role covers design, analysis, procedures, material planning, and offshore support across removal, transport, and load-in/load-out operations.

Aufgaben

  • Conduct structural design studies and simulations across concept, basic, and detailed engineering phases.

  • Plan and manage schedules and cost estimates related to structural scopes within the project.

  • Define methodologies, structural scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

  • Provide technical input and support during offshore execution, collaborating closely with operations teams.

  • Coordinate the fabrication of custom installation or removal tools, whether in-house or via subcontractors.

  • Oversee reviews of subcontractor designs and assess their proposed installation or removal methods.

  • Develop and document operational procedures for installation/removal aids and share insights with the wider team.

  • Generate material take-offs to support procurement and planning activities.

  • Keep the the department unit head informed on task progress and key milestones.

  • Support the preparation of the engineering close-out report with relevant structural data and insights.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of internal standards, best practices, and engineering guidelines.

Anforderungen

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in a structural or heavy lift engineering role (mid to senior level)

  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with a structured and self-driven approach to work

  • Familiarity with structural analysis tools (e.g., FEMAP, GeniE) is a plus but not essential

  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written

  • Eager to grow professionally and take on more responsibility over time

  • Willingness to travel and support offshore activities as needed

  • Interest or experience in offshore or marine operations is beneficial
