How we match you to the right project

Ever wondered how Middle Point connects engineers with the right maritime projects? Finding the right project goes deeper than job titles or vacancies. It’s about matching your expertise, ambitions and lifestyle with opportunities that feel natural and rewarding. Whether you’re currently in a great position or quietly considering your next move, this is how the matching process really works.

Step 1: First contact: just a conversation

It usually starts simple: a short message, a quick call, or a chat. No obligations. We listen first, about your background, the type of projects that excite you, and what “growth” means to you.

Sometimes that first chat already sparks something. Sometimes it’s the start of a longer story. Either way, you’ll notice one thing quickly: we’re genuinely curious about you. Because a good match starts with understanding who you are, not just what you can do.

Step 2: Mapping your career together

Once we understand your goals, we help you see what’s possible within the maritime industry. From yacht building to offshore energy and ship design, we work with renowned clients across the Netherlands and Germany.

Our consultants know the field inside out. They’ll ask the right questions. Not just about your technical background, but also about what kind of environment helps you do your best work.

  • What kind of projects make you proud?
  • What company culture fits your mindset?
  • What do you want your next step to bring?

Because in the end, it’s not just about the next project. It’s about where you feel you belong.

Step 3: Connecting you with renowned clients

Here’s where our network makes the difference. Middle Point works closely with some of the most innovative maritime companies in Europe.

Because we know both sides (the engineer and the employer) we can make introductions that feel natural and meaningful. You’ll know exactly what kind of project you’re stepping into, who you’ll work with and what’s expected of you.

That clarity gives confidence. And that’s what a good start needs.

Step 4: Interview rounds: supported all the way

We make sure you’re well prepared before every step. From technical questions to cultural fit, we help you approach each conversation with confidence.

You’ll never walk in alone. We’re there to discuss feedback, talk through your impressions and guide you toward a decision that truly feels right.

Matched and want to know what happens next?

Matched and then? Here’s what you can expect.

Step 5: Signing your new contract

When both sides feel that it’s a perfect fit, we support you through the formalities. We make sure every detail is clear. From your employment type to benefits and relocation terms.

A straightforward agreement that lets you start your next chapter with peace of mind.

Your contract and what’s included

At Middle Point, transparency is key. That’s why we take time to explain what your contract really means in practice.

Depending on the project and your preferences, you may be directly employed by Middle Point or by the client company. In both cases, you receive a professional contract that follows Dutch or German employment law.

You’ll also receive:

  • A competitive salary that matches your experience and expertise
  • Guidance with all administrative and tax-related questions
  • Reimbursement for travel or relocation costs where applicable
  • Access to our relocation and integration support, from housing to local registration
  • Invitations to our social and networking events

Step 6: Relocation assistance

If you’re moving to the Netherlands or Germany, we guide you every step of the way. Finding a home, sorting out the paperwork, registering with local authorities, even exploring schooling options if you’re relocating with family, it’s all part of the support we offer. Our relocation team knows that moving countries is a big decision, not just for you but often for your loved ones too.

We stay close throughout the process, answering questions, removing uncertainty and helping you settle in before your first working day. Because starting somewhere new should feel exciting, not stressful and we make sure it does!

Step 7: Onboarding

By the time you start, everything’s ready. You’ll know your role, your team and what’s expected from day one.

We stay in touch even after you’ve started to make sure you’re doing well, both at work and outside of it. Because we believe a good match doesn’t end at the contract; it starts there.

Already working but thinking about your next challenge?

You don’t always need to switch jobs to grow, discover how.

Every career move starts with curiosity. Maybe you’re not actively looking, but something here resonated. That small sense of curiosity often means it’s time to explore. We’d love to hear what’s on your mind, what you enjoy most about your work, what you’d like to learn next, or what kind of challenge would truly excite you.

There are countless opportunities waiting in the maritime world. If you’re ready to explore them, get in touch. Let’s find out together where your expertise could make a real impact and how we can make your next move feel right from day one.
