For a leading company in the Dutch maritime industry, I am for one or more Buyers.

Tasks

Depending on your background and experience, you will be involved in operational, project-based and/or strategic procurement activities. The role offers room to grow and to shape your responsibilities in line with your expertise, while contributing directly to complex, high-value maritime projects.

You will work closely with engineering, project management, production and suppliers to ensure the timely availability of materials, systems and services that meet quality, cost and planning requirements.

Depending on your experience and focus, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing procurement activities for maritime projects, from specification to delivery

  • Selecting, evaluating and managing suppliers, both locally and internationally

  • Requesting, analysing and negotiating quotations and contracts

  • Coordinating purchasing activities in line with project planning and production schedules

  • Monitoring supplier performance, lead times, costs and quality

  • Identifying risks in the supply chain and proposing mitigation actions

  • Contributing to continuous improvement of procurement processes and supplier strategies

  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Project Management and Quality

Job requirements

For this role, you need:

  • Experience as a Buyer within a technical or industrial environment

  • Affinity with shipbuilding, yacht building or complex project-driven industries

  • Able to operate independently while also functioning well in multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Structured way of working, with attention to quality, deadlines and costs

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage but not mandatory

  • Willingness to work in the Netherlands
