Every year, two extraordinary superyachts leave the dry docks of our client’s prestigious shipyard in Aalsmeer, Noord-Holland. As a Detail Engineer Exterior, you’ll be instrumental in crafting high-end stainless steel components that define the yacht’s luxury—from railings to tender boat lift points. With your expertise, you ensure that every detail seamlessly integrates into these custom masterpieces.

Tasks

As a Detail Engineer Exterior, you contribute directly to the luxury and functionality of our client’s yachts, which range from 70 to 90 meters in length. From the drawing board to final installation, your technical precision and aesthetic sense will shine in every project.

  • Engineer custom stainless steel parts in 3D using Solid Edge.

  • Visit yachts on-site to gather precise dimensions and contextual design data.

  • Develop production-ready technical drawings based on approved arrangement drawings.

  • Decide on suitable construction techniques (e.g., welding vs. bolting) in consultation with the production team.

  • Collaborate closely with carpentry draftsmen to align on wood-stainless steel interfaces.

  • Assess the feasibility and manufacturability of components with workshop colleagues.

  • Follow up production and installation phases, incorporating workshop feedback into future designs

Job requirements

  • A completed MBO diploma in metalworking or equivalent vocational qualification 

  • Several years of relevant experience, ideally including practical roles such as machinist

  • Extensive knowledge of materials, particularly stainless steel

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solid Edge experience is a plus)

  • Competency in Microsoft Office

  • Accurate, proactive, and quality-oriented approach

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written

Conditions

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience and role
  • 30% tax ruling for the first five years (for positions in the Netherlands)
  • 25 days of paid holidays + 13 extra paid ADV days
  • Compensation for commuting costs depending on your preferred means of transportation - own car / public transport / bike
  • Assistance with your relocation, i.e. registration, legal and fiscal matters, and housing advice 
  • Language course compensation up to €500 so that you have a good kickstart
