Tasks

As a Project Engineer - Electrical specializing in lighting systems, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, planning, and integration of complex onboard electrical and lighting systems. The role combines technical design expertise with project coordination, from concept through installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan complex electrical systems and supervise their design across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop arrangement and layout concepts for entire systems onboard vessels.
  • Perform space planning of interconnected systems within newbuild environments.
  • Conduct technical feasibility assessments and preliminary project reviews.
  • Handle technical negotiations and coordination with suppliers, customers, and classification societies in close cooperation with procurement.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring technical performance and compliance.

Specialization – Lighting Systems:

  • Evaluate and design room-specific lighting systems based on specifications.
  • Coordinate electrical equipment integration within interior and public spaces.
  • Assess and further develop lighting concepts for functional and aesthetic effectiveness.
  • Design electrical systems tailored to complex lighting needs.
  • Select and approve technical products for lighting implementation.
  • Verify all lighting and electrical design against maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Work with lighting control technologies, specifically DALI and DMX protocols.

Job requirements

  • Willingness to relocate to Germany — full support with relocation, visa, and Blue Card procedures provided.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in electrical systems planning within the shipbuilding sector.
  • Knowledge of lighting control systems such as DALI and DMX.
  • Excellent spatial planning and system integration capabilities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Capable of working independently and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the resilience to perform under pressure.
  • Business-level proficiency in English; German is advantageous.
