As an ILS Consultant, you will use the operational insight gained on board to help improve the reliability, maintainability and lifecycle performance of complex defence and maritime systems.You will contribute to engineering and logistics projects that ensure naval platforms, maritime systems and mission-critical assets remain ready for service. This is an ideal opportunity for hands-on maritime engineers who want to shift into a technical office role while still working directly with advanced ship systems.

Tasks

Support Defence and Maritime Projects : 

  • Contribute to developing and improving maintenance concepts for naval and maritime systems.

  • Support analyses such as maintenance task breakdown, failure mode identification, spare parts needs and system behaviour.

  • Review technical manuals, drawings and supplier documentation for technical and operational accuracy.

  • Apply your onboard experience with testing and commissioning procedures, including:

    • Functional testing

    • I/O testing

    • Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT)

    • Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT)

    • FAT review and acceptance

    • Recommissioning after maintenance

  • Update and maintain configuration and maintenance data in ERP or technical systems such as SAP or similar tools.

  • Assist senior consultants with logistics documentation, lifecycle data and readiness reporting.

Job requirements

  • MBO4 or HBO level technical education, preferably in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.

  • Experience as a 1st Engineer, 2nd Engineer, 3rd Engineer or Chief Engineer or similar onboard technical position.

  • Experience with onboard testing and commissioning such as FAT, HAT, SAT, I/O tests or trial procedures.

  • Understanding of ship systems, maintenance routines and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and maintenance documentation.

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.

  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English.

  • Interest in ILS, lifecycle engineering and maintenance optimisation.

Conditions

  • Salary range from 3200 to 4800 euros per month depending on experience.

  • Full training in Integrated Logistics Support, S-Series standards, FMECA, RCM and SAP.

  • Support to obtain professional certifications such as SAP or Prince2.
