Are you passionate about engineering cutting-edge marine systems for offshore applications? Join our client in Rotterdam, where you'll contribute to the design and innovation of floating production systems such as FPSOs and Floating LNG units. As a Mechanical Engineer - Marine Systems, you will take on an independent engineering role in key offshore projects, focusing on high-quality and cost-effective marine systems design for FPSOs and Floating LNG units.

Tasks

  • Independently engineering marine systems for floating production units.
  • Delivering innovative and cost-efficient system designs.
  • Participating in all project phases, especially Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design.
  • Occasionally traveling to global project offices or shipyards (short- or long-term assignments).
  • Collaborating across disciplines: Naval, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, and Safety.
  • Specifying and evaluating marine equipment and technology.
  • Applying classification rules (e.g., ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds) and HSSE policies.
  • Contributing to safety and review processes like HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA.

Job requirements

  • A completed Bachelor or Master in Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Seafaring College, or General Operational Technology (AOT).
  • At least 2 years of experience in marine systems design and engineering.
  • Experience in conceptual and detailed design for FPSOs, FSOs, Oil & Gas Carriers, Chemical Tankers, etc.
  • Interface knowledge with multiple disciplines and operations.
  • Preferably experience in shipyards, shipboard operations, and LNG carrier engineering.
  • Familiarity with marine systems technologies and commercial viability.
  • Knowledge of international classification societies and HSSE standards.
  • Experience with safety review processes (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, etc.).

  • Salary between €4.000 - €6.000 depending on experience
