Interior
A Project Engineer within the Interior discipline of shipbuilding is required by a leading shipyard in North-West Germany. A yard renowned for ship conversion and new build projects for both passenger and commercial ships.It is your job to coordinate subcontractors related to all engineering aspects of interior outfitting and design and must ensure that planning for the delivery of supplier information is drawn up, monitored, and adjusted where necessary.

Tasks

  • Plan and organize all interior engineering work, prepare schedules, and monitor progress.
  • Report on progress and hours, evaluate change requests, and provide technical advice to colleagues and departments involved in interior work.
  • Manage and distribute technical documentation and ensure smooth information flow to the production department.
  • Perform quality control on interior design deliverables, ensuring compliance before submission to class and authorities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, assess their designs and products, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Contribute to project team meetings, review proposals and drawings, and align interior scope with other disciplines.
  • Support purchasing activities by preparing technical specifications, reviewing supplier information, and maintaining engineering databases.

Job requirements

  • +5 years’ experience as Interior Engineer/Specialist, with a focus on detailed design and production;
  • Experience within shipbuilding, preferably passenger vessels or yachts;
  • Familiar with coordinating external parties / subcontractors and knowledge of rules, regulations, and class requirements related to yacht interiors;
  • Good communication skills, able to delegate work, and have an eye for multidisciplinary involvement;
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Intermediate German needed with ambition to learn further;
