Senior Marine Electrical Systems Engineer

In this 5-year assignment, you will act as the technical owner for several electrical systems onboard complex marine and naval vessels. While these systems are mainly designed and delivered by subcontractors, you remain fully responsible for scope, specifications, engineering deliverables, and integration. The role combines detailed electrical engineering with project management competence, ensuring all drawings, interfaces, and acceptance activities are properly defined and executed.

Tasks

  • Owning the scope of subcontractor-delivered electrical systems
  • Developing specifications, layouts, and system documentation
  • Preparing or supervising drawings, cable diagrams, and technical lists
  • Coordinating interfaces with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Ensuring integration of power distribution, automation, alarms, and monitoring systems
  • Preparing HAT/SAT protocols and supporting commissioning, trials, and acceptance testing
  • Acting as technical contact towards clients and classification societies

Job requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering (or similar)
  • Several years of experience in marine or naval electrical and automation projects
  • Strong skills in system integration, interface management, and subcontractor coordination
  • Experience writing technical specifications and taking responsibility for detailed engineering documentation (drawings, cable diagrams, technical lists)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, or Teamcenter 
  • EU citizenship is mandatory
