We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Analyst to become part of the Naval & Structural Engineering team. In this position, you will contribute to both concept (basic) and detailed design phases, supporting projects from initial proposal development through shipyard support and final vessel handover.

You will be responsible for structural analyses and calculations, ensuring compliance with classification standards, regulations, and client requirements, while optimizing strength, stiffness, vibration performance, and durability. You may also contribute to innovation and process improvements within the structural discipline.

Job description (Tasks)

  • Perform structural analyses and develop structural designs during proposal, basic, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering results within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Execute strength, stiffness, and vibration calculations in compliance with applicable rules and standards.
  • Develop and improve engineering standards, calculation methods, and internal processes.
  • Support design reviews, design validations, and engineering of outsourced work packages.
  • Integrate supplier and subcontractor data and technically evaluate quotations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, classification societies, and clients to ensure proper integration of structures and systems.
  • Provide technical support during production and yard phases up to vessel delivery.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ship structures within the shipbuilding or offshore industry, preferably in a senior-level analytical role.
  • Experience with class-rule calculations and tools such as DNV-GL Nauticus Hull, LR-SSC, or BV MARS2000.
  • Strong knowledge of FEM modelling and analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, NX, FEMAP).
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems such as NUPAS (3D), 3DX, or CATIA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and accurate working style.
  • Decisive, efficient, and able to function effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport required due to defence regulations.

Conditions

  • An attractive annual salary of €65.000 – €84.500, based on your experience
