Tasks

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process — from tendering and supplier selection to negotiation and contract closure. You will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure cost-efficient purchasing and reliable supplier performance for our global maritime projects.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven procurement professional with strong analytical skills, technical understanding, and a structured, solution-oriented approach.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for materials, components, and services within maritime HVAC projects.
  • Prepare, launch, and evaluate tenders based on technical specifications.
  • Conduct commercial and technical negotiations to secure the best sourcing outcomes.
  • Select and qualify suppliers in alignment with internal quality and project requirements.
  • Prepare and conclude purchasing and framework agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong long-term relationships.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Production to align procurement with project schedules and technical demands.
  • Support internal teams by providing cost analyses, availability assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools, and documentation.

Job requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable technical/commercial discipline.
  • Several years of experience in strategic or technical procurement - ideally in the maritime, industrial, or HVAC sector.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.
  • Experience in tendering, contract negotiation, supplier qualification, and framework agreements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a structured, proactive working style.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in negotiations.
  • Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
  • Skilled in SAP or similar ERP systems; MS Office proficiency.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic personality with the ability to work cross-functionally in an international environment.

Conditions

  • Competitive salary, €4.500 -  €5.500,- per month, depending on experience and role
  • Compensation for commuting costs depending on your preferred means of transportation - own car / public transport / bike
