You guide shipyards, owners’ representatives, and project teams through complex technical decision making, ensuring that each yacht’s electrical architecture is well defined, fully integrated, and ready for execution. Commercial outcomes follow from technical credibility, system clarity, and disciplined scope definition.

Tasks

Own Electrical System Definition and Client Interface

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for new build and refit projects within the Yachting business unit.

  • Lead technical discussions with shipyards, owners’ teams, and consultants, ensuring electrical and automation concepts are clearly defined, realistic, and aligned with project constraints.

  • Support the business unit strategy by safeguarding technical feasibility, system integrity, and scope clarity across all tender and project phases.

  • Represent the company in technical meetings and selected industry settings where system expertise and engineering credibility are required.

Translate Requirements into Integrated Electrical Solutions

  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and purchasing teams to develop complete electrical and automation system concepts.

  • Define electrical architectures, system boundaries, interfaces, and functional requirements in line with class rules and yard standards.

  • Prepare technical specifications, preliminary designs, and cost frameworks that accurately reflect system complexity and execution effort.

  • Ensure a structured and complete handover from tender phase to project execution, maintaining technical continuity and risk awareness.

  • Contribute to the improvement and standardisation of technical quotation tools, system templates, and engineering workflows.

Strengthen Technical Position and Knowledge Base

  • Maintain long-term technical relationships with key shipyards, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Provide structured feedback from projects and tenders to support continuous improvement of system designs and engineering approaches.

  • Monitor developments in yacht electrical systems, automation, power generation, and integration practices to support future system evolution.

  • Encourage close collaboration between technical and commercial disciplines, with engineering quality as the foundation.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field.

  • Several years of experience in maritime system integration or installation engineering (yacht building experience preferred).

  • Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.

  • Ability to translate customer requirements into technical concepts and proposals.

  • Structured, assertive, and analytical working style.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

  • Possession of a Category B driver’s license.
