A new project. A new shipyard. A new country, even. As an engineer working via Middle Point, your first day on the job is often the start of a new chapter. Here's what you can expect, and how we make sure you’re set up for success from the moment you walk in.

From first contact to your first day

Before you even step into your new workplace, a lot has already happened behind the scenes. We’ve matched you not just based on your skills, but also your ambitions, personality and cultural fit. Your future team is already familiar with your background and knows what you bring to the table.

For clients, this means someone who is ready to contribute from day one. For you, it means entering an environment that was made ready for your arrival.

Relocation, paperwork and peace of mind

If you’re relocating to the Netherlands or Germany, we’ll make sure your landing is smooth. From housing to schools for your children, from tax registration to local compliance. We’ve already taken care of it. So when your first day comes, you can focus on what matters: connecting with your team and starting your work.

Middle Point engineers are known for being well-prepared and eager to contribute from the get-go. And that’s no coincidence: our onboarding approach ensures you arrive not just informed, but confident.

What to expect on day one

Ofcours, every company is different, but most first days share a few key elements:

  • A team welcome: you’ll meet your colleagues and often get a short introduction to the team structure and your role within it.
  • A practical start: IT setup, workplace tour, safety procedures, everything to get you operational.
  • A technical briefing: depending on your role, you may jump straight into a project meeting or a technical onboarding session.

Some companies assign a buddy or mentor to help you settle in faster. Whether that’s the case or not, Middle Point stays close during this phase to ensure everything runs smoothly.

So what do we do after day one?

Onboarding doesn’t end when your first day does. Middle Point remains involved after you start. We check in regularly, support you with any questions or challenges, and stay in touch with your team lead to ensure your integration is going well.

This long-term involvement is part of what makes us different. We’re not just a recruitment agency; we’re a committed partner for both professionals and clients. Our goal? A sustainable match that works in real practice.
