Naval ArchitectureProject Lead Naval Architect – Role Profile
Lead multiple large yacht projects simultaneously (50 to 150+ meters), ensuring naval architectural integrity across all phases—from contract signing to delivery.
Serve as the technical authority for naval architecture, overseeing design quality, compliance, and performance across several construction numbers.
Act as the primary point of contact for all naval architectural aspects, both internally and externally.
Monitor and safeguard core performance domains, including:
Weight and stability management
Hydrodynamic performance and hull form optimization
Propulsion system integration
Seakeeping and onboard comfort
Manoeuvrability and handling
Noise and vibration control
Compliance with regulatory requirements
Coordinate closely with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) specialists to ensure accurate and timely input that supports design goals.
Supervise and guide a small team of Marine Engineers or Lines Plan Engineers, ensuring alignment with project targets.
Stay actively involved during the build phase, verifying that construction adheres to design intent and performance standards.
Participate in and support key delivery milestones, such as slipway tests, technical inspections, and sea trials.
Collaborate daily with Project Managers Design and cross-disciplinary teams—Exterior, Interior, Mechanical, and Structural Engineering—to evaluate changes, mitigate risks, and maintain design cohesion.
Report directly to the Team Leader Naval Architecture, while contributing to the development and consistency of naval architectural practices across the organization.
