Offshore Engineering
As a Marine Systems Engineer, you will act as an independent engineer on projects, contributing to high-quality and cost-effective marine systems designs for floating production units. You will primarily focus on FPSOs, with potential involvement in Floating LNG products. The role may involve periods of high workload and occasional assignments in project offices or shipyards worldwide, on both short- and long-term bases.

  • Deliver conceptual and detailed design of marine systems for floating production units, including FPSOs, FSOs, tankers, and offshore installations.
  • Ensure designs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective, meeting project specifications and lifecycle performance requirements.
  • Interface and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Naval Architecture, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, and Technical Safety, to ensure integrated system design.
  • Specify, evaluate, and select marine systems equipment, balancing technical performance, reliability, and commercial considerations.
  • Apply and ensure compliance with classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyd’s) and HSSE standards throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Support and contribute to safety and risk assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and SIF reviews.
  • Provide technical support during project execution, including engagement with vendors, shipyards, and global project offices as required.

Functie eisen

  • MSc or BSc degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Higher Seafaring College, or General Operational Technology (AOT).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marine Systems Engineering and Design, preferably covering Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.

  • Strong technical knowledge in marine and production systems for floating units in the Oil & Gas industry.

  • Experience in EPC projects with strong expertise in procurement and materials management.

  • Experience with shipyards, shipboard operations, marine equipment vendors, and manufacturers is preferred.

  • Understanding of classification society rules and international HSSE regulations.
