Offshore EngineeringFollowing our client's successful acquisition of multiple worldwide projects, the workload in their Heavy Lift Engineering division is escalating rapidly. Despite having brought onboard a considerable number of talented personnel over the past months, it is anticipated that they will need to hire an additional personnel in the coming months The department is full of projects for the next couple of years both in installation which include OWF and decommissioning. Tasks
- Actively contribute to the energy transition by playing a key role in a dynamic agile team focused on multidisciplinary engineering for offshore projects.
- Collaborate with creative Structural Engineers, Heavy Lift Engineers, Naval Architects, and Draftsmen in driving concept development and overseeing basic and detailed engineering phases for the installation of topsides and jacket structures.
- Engage in the entire engineering process, from design and engineering to the fabrication of innovative lifting tools, supports, and the preparation of procedures and manuals.
- Provide on-site support during yard and offshore execution.
- Analyze and formulate project specifications for offshore transportation and installation operations, yard preparations, load-out, barge transfer, and tow operations.
- Prepare design calculations and reports for all (structural) heavy lift design work within defined scope, budget, and schedule constraints.
- Develop procedures and manuals for load-out, transfer, mooring, tow, installation, and transportation operations.
- Interface with various disciplines, including the project team, vessel crew, clients, subcontractors, certification authorities, and marine warranty surveyors, to define efficient and cost-effective solutions. Offer ongoing engineering support.
- Propose innovative solutions for how Allseas can contribute to the energy transition in offshore wind.
- Stay informed about the development of specialized equipment for installation operations.
- Prepare method and execution statements for commercial bids for new projects.
- Design lifting gear, such as spreader bars, rigging, pad eyes, internal/external lifting tools.
- Perform platform inspections at fabrication yards to confirm platform condition and assess the feasibility of proposed installation methodologies.
- Prepare factory acceptance and commissioning tests for project equipment.
Job requirements
- Must be an EU national or must possess the right to work in NL currently. Candidates who are already based in The Netherlands are highly preferred.
- Possess a BSc Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Maritime Engineering (or an equivalent qualification).
- While a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement. 2-3 years is ideal.
- Preferably have an affinity with the offshore renewables and/or marine environment.
- Display a willingness to travel and work offshore.
- Fluent in English.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in developments within the renewable industry and the broader energy transition.
- Function effectively as a team player, motivated to tackle technical challenges collaboratively.
- Exhibit self-starting qualities with a blend of creative and analytical skills.
