This exciting role is hybrid  between a Package Engineer and a Specialist Engineer for mechanical rotating equipment. 

In the role of a Package Engineer, your responsibilities encompass the technical facets of procuring, designing, and producing purchased process and marine equipment. This includes tasks such as selecting equipment, ensuring functionality, and integrating all necessary requirements and interfaces into the design to meet both internal and external standards.

As Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will  bring expertise in various components such as compressors, pumps, gas turbines, engines, and ancillary support systems, alongside proficiency in the mechanical handling of related equipment. Specialized knowledge in Offshore Pedestal Cranes, Cargo Offloading Systems (Hose & Hawser Reels), and Mechanical Handling (across the FPSO / Offshore Unit) is an absolute advantage for this position.

Tasks

Main responsibilities include:

  • Prepare specifications for equipment.
  • Perform technical clarifications and evaluations.
  • Liaise with the purchasing department.
  • Act as an intermediary between equipment suppliers and internal engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate the integration of purchased equipment into the overall offshore installation.
  • Review vendor drawings and calculations.
  • Conduct safety studies.
  • Manage changes (Management of Change - MOC).
  • Conduct final inspections of equipment.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate for the position of Mechanical Rotating Equipment / Package Engineer should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within the (Offshore) Oil & Gas Industry, with a background in a comparable role or as an engineer (e.g., project engineer, system engineer, lead engineer) at a pertinent equipment supplier (vendor).
  • Educational qualifications at the Bachelor's/Master's level, preferably in Mechanical Technology.
  • Strong team player with a proactive approach, adept at problem-solving and creative thinking.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both verbally and in written communication.
  • Readiness and willingness to travel as required for the role.
