We are teaming up with an Offshore Energy client  to recruit for a  Logistics and Transport  Coordinator to be based  in their office in North Holland.

You will be an integral part of the contracts & procurement department which is responsible for delivering (sub) contracting and procurement in such a way that services and supplies are obtained at the best conditions regarding quality, delivering time, price and HSE aspects in order to contribute to the realization of the company’s goals and strategy.

Tasks

As Logistics and Transport  Coordinator, your mission is to deliver cost-effective and streamlined logistics services, overseeing the end-to-end process of transports and documentation.

  • Craft transportation plans in accordance to the  project execution plans and contribute transportation and logistics insights to project procurement plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering for special/heavy transports, ensuring thorough verification of grillage, sea fastening, and stow plans.
  • Generate realistic transport cost estimates/budgets, shipping schedules, and options for tender, asset, and project considerations.
  • Coordinate logistics transport companies, adept in handling chartering HLV, break bulk, container liner traffic, air and road freight.
  • Manage logistics documentation, secure tender board approvals, place transport orders, and report deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate requisition requirements.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and appraise logistics service providers, subcontractors, vendors, and agents.
  • Develop efficient logistics processes with transporters.
  • Select, contract, and oversee transportation companies.
  • Monitor the safety performance of logistics contractors.
  • Ensure transport adheres to safety standards.
  • Verify and approve invoices or commitments.
  • Stay informed about import regulations in destination countries.
  • Act as the representative for the company  in dealings with logistics providers.
  • Collaborate internally with procurement, PM, and legal/Insurance as needed.

Job requirements

To be successful in this role, you have must have:

  • MUST have existing rights to work in The Netherlands, candidates based locally are highly preferred. 
  • Offshore / O&G / EPC experience in transportation  and logistics 
  • Proficient understanding of Incoterms.
  • Competent in both written and spoken English.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Thorough comprehension of a multicultural, 24/7 production environment.
  • Openness to undertake tasks abroad, whether onshore or offshore.
