Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Our client is seeking a Safety and Loss Prevention (SLP) Engineer to strengthen their offshore engineering division. You will work in a dynamic, international team focused on advanced floating production systems for the offshore industry. The location offers a well-connected, vibrant working environment near the port of Rotterdam. As an SLP Engineer, you will be responsible for developing key deliverables and conducting advanced safety analyses for offshore production systems. Your work will support risk mitigation and compliance with international standards.
Prepare fire protection and hazardous area classification documentation.
Design escape route layouts and loose firefighting equipment lists.
Perform hydraulic firewater calculations.
Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis (FERA), and Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analyses (EERA).
Model gas dispersion scenarios including smoke and toxic gases.
Support the development of safety engineering documents per Group Technical Standards.
Design fire and gas detection, firefighting, and safety systems on FPSO and turret systems.
Create equipment specifications and P&IDs for loss prevention systems.
Contribute to cause-and-effect diagrams, safety plans, and hazardous zoning layouts.
Participate in HAZOPs, design, and safety reviews.
Perform safety and risk engineering in compliance with legislation and codes.
Respond to client and internal queries on hazard management.
Justify environmental and human factors engineering requirements in designs.
Anforderungen
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Safety Engineering, Risk Engineering, or related fields.(NL: HBO/WO-Bachelor or WO-Master → DE: Hochschule/Universität 3–5 Jahre)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Oil and Gas sector.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Familiarity with safety modeling tools (e.g., PHAST).
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a sense of accountability.
