Technical Resource Planner Superyacht Construction

More than 1800 professionals in the Netherlands work on superyachts under the brand name Feadship: a name with world allure! Each yacht (up to 120 meters) is custom built, entirely according to the wishes of the customer. Each company has its own specific field and specialists and delivers craftsmanship. De Vries Groep consists of two finishing yards and a number of production companies. At Koninklijke de Vries Scheepsbouw, the finishing yard in Aalsmeer, we are looking for a Technical (Resource) Planner Superyacht Construction.

The yard has three dock halls. On average, two superyachts leave the yard each year. About 430 permanent employees work passionately on its creation. Good capacity planning is therefore essential. To ensure that this runs smoothly, we have a planner per department. The planner is primarily responsible for scheduling employees on the projects. In your case, this concerns the hours of approx. 23 engineers and approx. 10 production employees. Think of hours spent on drawing work and hours spent on electrical work on board the yacht. You can collect the input for this from the managers of these departments. They work with overviews that provide insight into the amount of work per project (read: hunt). Due to the involvement with the yachts and the challenges in the design and production phase, you get to know the building process through and through. A unique opportunity! Every challenge has consequences for the amount of work. You can make a difference by using this knowledge to improve the construction process. You are the first to identify bottlenecks in capacity planning. If you then want to be really successful, you make sure that you communicate these changes to the other stakeholders. Through this process of evaluation and improvement, you automatically develop as a sparring partner for the managers. In summary, your duties include the following: You are the first to identify bottlenecks in capacity planning. If you then want to be really successful, you make sure that you communicate these changes to the other stakeholders. Through this process of evaluation and improvement, you automatically develop as a sparring partner for the managers. In summary, your duties include the following: You are the first to identify bottlenecks in capacity planning. If you then want to be really successful, you make sure that you communicate these changes to the other stakeholders. Through this process of evaluation and improvement, you automatically develop as a sparring partner for the managers. In summary, your duties include the following:

• Processing the resource planning for the departments assigned to you. You ensure that sufficient capacity is available to ensure the progress of the work (approx. 50%);

• Identifying changes and potential bottlenecks in capacity planning. You monitor the progress of the work and adjust the planning when necessary (approximately 25%);

• Communicate changes and possible bottlenecks to the stakeholders of other departments (approximately 25%).

You have a completed MBO / HBO education in a technical direction. You are someone who can keep a good overview, but also has an eye for detail. You also have the following features:

• The competencies that suit you are: Communicating, Planning & Organizing, Analyzing;

• Collaboration comes naturally to you;

• Experience with the planning program MS Project is an advantage.

Success lies in planning the work properly, identifying bottlenecks at an early stage and anticipating them. Experience in yacht building is not necessary. People do know you as someone who quickly learns things, so that you gain insight into what the planned work is for. This insight enables you to play a role in the coordination between the various departments and projects. Quite a challenge. Because no yacht is the same. And therefore a challenge every time in terms of complexity, detailing and use of materials.
