We are looking for a Fleet Manager who will oversees the coordination of vessel crews, ensuring compliance with both national and international laws and regulations during task execution, adherence to specified plans, budgets, quality standards, safety protocols, occupational health regulations (ARBO), and environmental guidelines.

Only candidates with EU citizenship and already living in The Netherlands will be taken into consideration for this role.

Aufgaben

  • Ensuring the proactive and corrective maintenance of the vessels in collaboration with the Technical Superintendent by formulating and upholding an adequate maintenance plan aligned with established budgets, international regulations and conditions;
  • Overseeing the maintenance operations;
  • Facilitating the recruitment of nautical crew members in coordination with Crewing and HR, ensuring compliance with the international health and safety regulations for vessel activities;
  • Managing technical and logistical support from the dock during operations to optimize efficiency;
  • Contributing to the development of procedures and ensuring adherence to established guidelines for maintenance, safety and facilities;
  • Drafting, and upon approval, overseeing (short- or middle-long term) budgets for the management and maintenance of maritime assets;
  • Compiling comprehensive reports on technical and nautical activities, including any deviations, surpassing thresholds, or adverse outcomes;
  • Establishing a secure and healthy working environment for the vessel personnel, with the primary objective of preventing accidents and minimizing personal injuries;
  • Managing the resolution of reclaim, damage, and warranty claims, effectively communicating and reporting to suppliers and insurance companies while ensuring responsibility and equitable settlement of claims;
  • Organizing  and participating in regular meetings with the Masters and Chief Engineers to assess and enhance the operational effectiveness of vessels;
  • Conducting research on alternative work methods and technical enhancements to optimize vessels employability;
  • Addressing non-conformity reports, and diligently managing the reporting of (near-miss) accidents and hazardous situations;
  • Initiating preventive and corrective measures according to reportings of dangerous situations, (near-miss) accidents and incidents;
  • Acting as Company Security Officer and Designated Person Ashore;
  • Holding responsibility for overseeing ISM and ISPS certification compliance;
  • Conducting thorough workplace inspections on-site to ensure adherence to safety standards.

Anforderungen

  • Relevant HBO-level degree, such as in Maritime Officer, Naval Architect, or Engineering, applicable to the targeted position;
  • Demonstrating 3 to 10 years of experience in ship management and ship repair;
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed;
  • Decisiveness, effective communication, budget consciousness, adept negotiations skills and result-oriented approach;
  • Fluent in English and preferably Dutch as well;
  • EU citizenship and living in The Netherlands.
