You are a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialised in the complete engineering documentation of new built complex vessels and you are looking for the next step into the world of custom built yacht industry! As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your goal is to safeguard the quality & accuracy of the engineering design of all systems onboard of the new build vessels. At the same time, you will ensure the information flow among all stakeholders & involved parties by respecting agreements, owner’s wishes, international rules & regulations and Yard standards. The aim is to deliver the engineering documentation on time to the Production department, monitor possible changes and suggest solutions if necessary.

Aufgaben

Create a detailed plan which includes delivery milestones related to the engineering documentation and monitor the progress;
Review the complete design of the marine systems (HVAC, propulsion, system diagrams, engine room layout, etc.) and check the technical requirements in order to meet the specifications based on the owner’s wishes as well as the international rules and regulations and the Yard’s standards;
Keep contact with involved stakeholders, third parties, subcontractors, suppliers as well as the owners' representatives regarding the project’s progress and act as the main point of contact for daily operations related to your discipline;
Ensure the timely and correct information flow, organize & attend meetings and update the multidisciplinary Engineering Manager responsible for the project;
Stay up-to-date withn the latest development in the yacht building sector and suggest solutions or improvements when possible.

Anforderungen

BSc or higher in Marine Engineering or equivalent;
6+ years of experience in the design of all marine systems of new built ships either in ship- or yacht building (experience in yachts of 70+ meters is preferred!);
Experience in managing third parties/subcontractors;
Familiarity with the applicable rules & regulations;
Solution oriented, great team player, excellent communication skills;
Experience in working with 2D and 3D software;
Proficient in English language (both written and oral);
Living or willing to relocate to the area of Rotterdam.
