Mechanical Systems Engineer – Naval Shipbuilding

In this role, you will be responsible for the concept development, engineering and implementation of mechanical systems for complex naval projects. You will take technical ownership of assigned systems throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable regulations, quality standards, budgets and schedules while coordinating closely with design, production and other engineering disciplines.

Aufgaben

  • Take technical responsibility for assigned mechanical systems and work packages within complex naval projects.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions in accordance with project specifications, applicable regulations, functional requirements, installation constraints, maintainability, accessibility, budget and schedule.
  • Manage your assigned systems throughout all project phases, from project kick-off and engineering through to production support.
  • Coordinate interfaces between engineering, production and other specialist departments throughout the design and construction process until project delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, system schematics, bills of materials and acceptance documentation.
  • Ensure the integration of your systems into the overall vessel design and 3D model.
  • Coordinate technically with customer representatives, suppliers and relevant authorities.
  • Proactively identify and address technical challenges while acting as the interface between different engineering disciplines and onboard systems.

Anforderungen

  • A degree in marine engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable technical discipline; alternatively, further training as a technician with relevant professional experience
  • Several years’ experience in technical project management or the design of complex machinery and plant systems, ideally in shipbuilding or the marine sector
  • Proficiency in dealing with technical regulations and the requirements of complex development projects
  • Experience with CAD and PLM systems, such as AutoCAD, Teamcenter or CADMATIC, is an advantage
  • A structured and independent approach to work, combined with strong communication and coordination skills
  • Good command of English and a willingness to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
