When an engineer explores opportunities early, there is time to ask better questions. About the project, the team, the engineering phase, how responsibilities are divided, and what the role will actually look like after the first few months.
Those details matter, because you take the time to think properly about your career. What do I want? What do I find important? Where do I get energy from?
A role can look strong on paper and still be the wrong fit for a specific engineer. The opposite is also true. A role that seems modest at first can offer exactly the technical ownership or international exposure somebody was missing.
You only see that clearly when there is enough time to compare.
