Senior Electrical Engineer

Electrical & InstrumentationWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a prominent client in the Offshore Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sector. The primary focus of this role is to engineer and integrate electro-technical solutions and detailed designs across all stages of the product lifecycle, from proposals to post-sales support. Prior experience with lifting equipment, such as cranes or jacking systems, is a prerequisite.
In this position, you will collaborate with engineers to deliver on quoting, design, and customer satisfaction. You will serve as the central point of contact for technical aspects on specific projects.

Tasks
Main Responsibilities:
- Contribute to projects as a team member, primarily focusing on design, engineering, analysis, and verification.
- Take responsibility for designing, engineering, and technically coordinating the assigned work scope (systems, equipment, packages) in accordance with relevant rules, regulations, standards, and QA procedures.
- Review and oversee third-party supplied documentation.
- Define and manage interfaces within the assigned work scope.
- Develop best practices, work methods, and standards to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all deliverables align with system requirements.
- Participate in internal design review meetings while considering commercial implications.
- Execute all duties in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures and departmental work instructions.
- Contribute to overall improvements in the quality and key activities of the department.
- Manage interfaces for secondary systems such as HVAC, AOL, sliprings, etc.
- Provide guidance on cable routing to mechanical routing engineers.
- Prepare and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for electrical equipment and electrical systems.
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in designing, engineering, and configuring AC and/or DC distribution systems.
- Ability to validate electrotechnical designs through power quality studies and related analyses, including Short Circuit Analysis, Harmonics Analysis, Voltage-Drop Calculations, Arc-Flash Studies, Load Flow, Load Balance Calculations, Power Swings Analysis, Overcurrent Protection, and Coordination, as well as EMC and EMI understanding.
- Competence in designing, engineering, specifying, and configuring electrical equipment and systems, including Power Distribution Switchgear, Drive System Components (Transformers, Filters, Rectifiers, Inverters, Motors, Motion Control Centers, etc.), Control Networks, HVAC, CCTV, Lighting, Access Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Work Lighting, and Obstruction Lighting.
- Excellent English communication skills; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
- Proactive and collaborative mindset, with strong teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in using tools such as ETAP or SKM Powertools, Matlab Simpowersystems or SimScape, E-plan, Autocad, and Teamcenter.
