As a Structural Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in designing and analyzing the structural integrity of vessels, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

Tasks

Structural Design: Lead the creation of comprehensive structural designs, including relevant calculations, from the proposal phase through to yard support and vessel delivery.
Detailed Calculations: Perform in-depth calculations covering various aspects such as strength, stiffness, vibrations, buckling, fatigue, military loads (e.g., blast and signatures), producibility, and maintainability.
FEM Calculations: Apply Finite Element Method (FEM) calculations when necessary to support structural analysis.
Project Deliverables: Take ownership of project deliverables, including obtaining class approval for the structure and participating in technical meetings with colleagues, suppliers, and client representatives.
 

Job requirements

Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a Structural Analyst in the shipbuilding and/or offshore industry is required.
Proficiency in ship class calculations and the use of class tools is essential. Familiarity with tools such as DNV-GL Nauticus Hull, LR-SSC, and/or BV MARS2000 is highly valued.
Demonstrated expertise in FEM modeling and analysis software is necessary. Proficiency in software packages like ANSYS, NX, or FEMAP is preferred.
Experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems is required. Knowledge of systems like NUPAS (3D), 3DX, or Catia is advantageous.
