We are in a close collaboration with a multinational Oil & Gas to recruit for a (Sr) Naval Architect to join our team located in South Holland. This position offers a unique chance for you to make a significant contribution to the growth of our Naval Architecture Department's knowledge and skills, all while actively engaging in stimulating projects.

Your main responsibility will revolve around producing top-notch and budget-efficient designs for our client's range of products, with a strong focus on FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels).

Tasks

Your key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Enhance Knowledge and Expertise - contribute to the growth and enrichment of the Naval Architecture discipline's knowledge based
  • Project Participation - actively engage in project-related activities to deliver high-quality designs for our client's  products, with a primary focus on FPSOs. This includes expertise in critical areas such as loading and stability analysis, accommodation design, deck equipment and lifesaving systems, shipyard bidding support, procurement activities, inclining experiments, and more.
  • Project Leadership -  be prepared to take on the role of a Discipline Lead Engineer (DLE), overseeing project management functions, which may involve supervising a team of up to 4 Naval Architects and additional designer/drafters.
  • Conceptual Design - play a pivotal role in shaping the overall design of floating structures, especially during the early stages of new build projects and project conceptualization.
  • Technical Expertise - provide sound technical knowledge and expertise in Naval Architecture for both conceptual and detailed design phases.

Job requirements

  • Hold a degree (MSc or BSc) in Naval Architecture or possess an equivalent qualification (Professional Certification).
  • Exhibit proficiency in collaborating with other relevant disciplines such as Marine Systems, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process & Technical Safety.
  • Possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, with a preference for prior exposure to FPSO projects.
  • Ideally, have experience in Engineering & Design and/or Operations related to floating and production units (e.g., FSOs, FPSOs, Oil & Gas and Chemical tankers, Drilling Units, Semi-submersibles, TLPs) within the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Demonstrate a high level of expertise and strong technical proficiency in Naval Architecture, encompassing both conceptual and detailed design aspects.
  • Possess familiarity with classification society regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds) and international organizations, and demonstrate a strong commitment to implementing Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies.

Please note that high priority will be given to applicants who already have existing rights to work in The Netherlands and/or EU Citizens. Additionally, Dutch speakers are strongly preferred.
