Marine Systems & Piping

An experienced Machinery Engineer with strong experience from Concept to Detail Design within a shipyard or engineering office is required by one of our clients based in  the Rotterdam Area.

In this role you will be classed as Machinery Surveyor and be responsible for reviewing and assessing designs/drawings related to systems such as, Piping, Propulsion, Water Treatment, Fire Treatment, SOLAS etc. which can vary across a wide range of vessels such as, yacht, Naval and heavy duty offshore ships (both new build and refit).

  • Act as point of contact for customers, collaborating closely with multiple parties looking for approval of specific designs.
  • Review and assess designs and drawings related to specific mechanical machinery.
  • Assist customers to achieve a result that both meets the requirements and is practically feasible.
  • Keep up to date with the latest regulation developments and ensure customers are meeting these requirements.

Job requirements

  • MSc or BSc within Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant maritime disciplines.
  • 5 years experience' in the maritime sector. (Shipyard experience ideal).
  • Solid understanding rules & requirements related to onboard machinery.
  • You have good communication skills in English (Dutch advantageous).
  • You are able to switch between multiple projects without losing the overview;
  • Previous or current work experience within the Netherlands
