As the OHS Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with safety requirements and supporting project teams. Your expertise in occupational health and safety will be crucial in maintaining adherence to OHS contracts and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Tasks

  • Conduct hazard assessments and maintain a hazard log.
  • Monitor and report progress of outsourced hazard assessments, ensuring safety compliance.
  • Collect and analyze data from subcontractors and stakeholders, improving safety protocols.
  • Monitor project progress, including third-party performance, and intervene as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety measures.
  • Analyze workplace risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identify various workplace hazards, such as chemical, biological, ergonomic, and physical.
  • Stay updated on OHS laws and regulations and adapt accordingly.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subcontractors for Hazard Assessment and Environmental Impact Analyses.
  • Facilitate subcontractor involvement throughout the project's phases.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • Proficiency in OHS laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience as an OHS specialist, preferably in a technical environment.
  • Proficiency in Dutch, German, and English.
  • Certification in relevant OHS standards (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001) is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications.
  • Must have excellent references and be eligible for pre-employment security screening.
  • EU citizenship.
