We are currently seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager Production with experience in the maritime industry and proficiency in German. You will be based in Hamburg, but also business trips in the North of Germany and the Netherlands are included. 

Your role as an Assistant Project Manager will be supporting the Project Manager Production and the team. You will play a proactive role in the management, monitoring and enhancing specific elements within the assigned project. 

Your responsibilities involve ensuring conformity with the established project scope, upholding rigorous standards in quality, complying with planning, meeting designated timelines, and adhering to budgetary requirements, while maintaining adherence to HSSEQ standards.

Tasks

  • Actively participating in the analysis of project issues and contributing to problem-solving efforts within the project;
  • Assist the Project Manager Production in overseeing the entire production phase project. Beginning with manufacturing engineering, through ship production, commissioning, outfitting, testing and ultimate transition;
  • Provide substantial assistance to the Project Manager Production by offering expertise in technical, organizational, and contractual matters;
  • Handling communication and ensuring the timely provision of information including to serve as a point of contact with the representative from the client side;  
  • Deliver administrative assistance to the project manager in production, involving tasks such as managing emails, coordinating schedules, organizing meetings, answer questions and requests, creating meeting protocols and overseeing appointments;
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing essential policies and procedures to guarantee the project organization attains its objectives successfully;
  • Assuring that all required procedures and policies are in place and maintained to guarantee a safe and healthy working environment at each project area.

Job requirements

  • Master's level qualification with applicable expertise in a technically challenging context;
  • Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken German and English;
  • Familiarity with comprehensive principles and techniques in project management. Demonstrates adaptability, environmental awareness, and the ability to quickly grasp the essence of complex issues with flexibility;
  • Capable of regular travel and engagement in work assignments located in Northern Germany and the Netherlands;
  • EU citizenship and permanent EU work visa are all required, in view of the military nature of the clients and project;
