As a Structural Hull Engineer, your primary role is to design and verify the structural aspects of FPSO projects, including tanker conversions and new build hulls. You'll also support technology development, vessel acquisition, create 3D models and drawings, and conduct offshore inspections, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective designs.

Tasks

  • Lead structural design tasks for FPSO projects, including both tanker conversions and new build hulls.
  • Conduct strength verifications for structural components of FPSO projects.
  • Provide support to the Technology Development department, aiding in the introduction of new products and technologies for FPSO, FLNG, and Renewable product lines.
  • Assist the vessel acquisition department in selecting donor tankers for FPSO or FLNG conversion.
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of hull structures and marine equipment for FPSO projects.
  • Conduct offshore inspections of tankers and provide yard support during conversion and new build projects.
  • Contribute to the expertise and knowledge within the Structural Hull discipline and FPSO projects.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and expansion of knowledge to deliver high-quality and cost-effective designs.
  • Participate in proposals and pre-FEED studies for new FPSO designs and technology advancements.

Job requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Offshore Structures, Naval Architecture, or related field with a specialization in structural analysis of floating structures.
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant working experience in structural design.
  • Proficiency and technical expertise in structural analysis of both global and detailed hull structures.
  • Familiarity with rules and regulations of classification societies such as ABS, DNV GL, BV, and Lloyds.
  • Knowledge and experience in Engineering & Design of floating units within the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Ability to program in Visual Basic for Application (VBA) within MS Office.
  • Essential requirement: Experience with finite element software FEMAP.
  • Must possess EU citizenship.
