Are you ready to lead the way and spearhead our client's Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) design department? We'd like to speak with you, our client is seeking to recruit an E&I Design Discipline Manager to join their team in Papendrecht. 

With over 15 years of engineering prowess, your expertise is invaluable, especially in Greenfield lump sum projects and global client engagements. Fluent in Dutch, you'll effortlessly bridge cultural gaps and connect with stakeholders across the board. 

Tasks

  • Assume overall responsibility for the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) design discipline within the organization.
  • Engage in day-to-day management of the discipline's employees, ensuring smooth operations and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members regarding career planning, educational opportunities, and training possibilities to support their professional development.
  • Monitor projects closely, overseeing budget adherence, tracking progress, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout.
  • Manage manpower allocation, resource planning, and oversee the recruitment and acquisition of new personnel as needed to meet project demands and organizational growth objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures and standards to uphold the integrity and excellence of the E&I design discipline's deliverables.

Job requirements

  • Proficiency in the Dutch language is a must
  • Experience in executing Greenfield lump sum projects 
  • The role demands extensive expertise, with a minimum of 15 years' hands-on experience in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) design across both Basic and detailed engineering phases.
  • Leadership skills are paramount, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in managing E&I design teams specifically during the detailed engineering phase.
  • Given the global nature of projects, familiarity with international clients and a diverse array of cultures is highly valued.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, including adeptness in editing, are essential.
  • The candidate should exhibit a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong sense of accountability and reliability is expected.
  • Proficiency in E&I design, covering High Voltage/Medium Voltage/Low Voltage systems, telecommunication, Fire & Gas detection, and process automation, is required.
  • Prior experience in designing offshore platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in High Voltage substations design would be advantageous.
