We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer – 2D Plans & Arrangements to join a leading naval shipbuilding project in the Netherlands. In this role, you will develop 2D functional engineering plans using General Arrangement drawings as a basis, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, classification society rules, Flag State regulations and international maritime standards.

Tasks

The position combines technical drawing, regulatory knowledge and engineering judgement, with occasional calculations and close collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Job description (Tasks)

  • Develop 2D engineering plans, including Fire Safety, Watertight Integrity, Doors and Insulation Plans.
  • Prepare basic and functional design drawings based on General Arrangements, building specifications and applicable regulations.
  • Develop safety and lifesaving arrangements, escape route plans and fire protection plans.
  • Support deck arrangements involving mooring, anchoring, navigation equipment and other deck systems.
  • Perform relevant engineering calculations and justify technical design decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State and IMO requirements.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces and communicate design considerations with other engineering disciplines.


Job requirements

  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding engineering, plans and arrangements or functional design.
  • Proven experience preparing 2D ship plans and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Cadmatic and/or CATIA / 3DExperience.
  • Strong knowledge of classification society and Flag State rules, including relevant IMO conventions such as SOLAS.
  • Experience with safety plans, general arrangements, watertight integrity and/or insulation plans.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and clearly explain technical decisions.
  • Good command of English.
  • EU citizenship required due to project/security requirements.

  • An attractive monthly salary of €4.000 – €6.200, based on your experience
