The Dutch New Year's Dive, or "Nieuwjaarsduik," is a tradition that has captivated the nation since its inception in the 1960s. While the exact origins remain somewhat shrouded in mystery, it's believed to have been inspired by similar winter swimming practices found in other cultures.
