We are proud to partner with one of our long-standing multinational clients, a well-respected innovative product and service supplier within the marine and energy sectors, to recruit for a Senior Sales Manager to join their small, dedicated team of professionals responsible for sales, engineering and project delivery for Naval and Coastguard Customers.

The preferred location for the position is in Mainland Europe such as Germany, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, or the UK.

In this position, your work will focus on developing the Naval activities in the assigned territories and follow new build projects for Naval propulsion systems. Moreover, you are expected to generate and maintain relations with Navy / Coastguard and Shipyard customers.

As Senior Sales Manager Naval Propulsion, your main responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining high-level of good relations with the Navies and Shipyards & the company’s network sales
  • Order Intake for Propellers, Thrusters, Gearboxes, Engines, PTI Systems
  • Marketing activities and attending / organizing customer seminars
  • Maintaining the CRM database to high accuracy
  • Appointment of local representation where needed
  • Promotion to Naval and Coastguard customers and supporting the local sales effort for the given projects
  • Achieving specification / preference by owner for the company’s propulsion systems.
  • Working with the sales engineering department by  providing guidance and input for achieving the correct pricing level for the project
  • Understanding of export control, legal matters and ILS requirements would be an advantage
  • Setting up marketing events with the local sales (e.g. technology seminars for Navy, Coastguard and Shipyard)
  • Developing the new build propulsion project with the Navy and Yard from concept design to contract signing.
  • Making value proposition for the company and co-ordinate with services organisation.

Functie eisen

In order to be successful for this role, you must have:

  • 10 + years of experience in engineering/ technical sales with excellent relevant customer-base
  • Technical competences to support the shipyards in their requests and capable of analysing the completions offering.
  • Advanced Experience in Governmental & Naval New Build Projects
  • Good Offset and ILS requirements of the Navies
  • Good experience in contract negotiations
  • Good relevant engineering technical education background (Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree)
  • Advanced international business / Incoterms / LOC / Payment cycles
