We are collaborating with one of our long-standing clients based in Germany to recruit for an Export Compliance Expert to join the Materials Management & Logistics team..  This a permanent position with the opportunity to be based in Hamburg, Germany,  Schiedam, The Netherlands, or Horsholm, Denmark

As an Export Compliance Expert, your role is integral to ensuring the organization's adherence to stringent legal standards in foreign trade data compliance. With a keen focus on precision and diligence, you undertake a range of responsibilities to guarantee the accuracy and legality of our client’s operations. Let's delve into the key aspects of your role:

  • Validate HS-Codes and Country of Origin Information: Rigorously ensuring that HS-Codes and Country of Origin Information align with legal requirements, maintaining a foundation of compliance for the company.
  • Proactive Engagement with Stakeholders and Suppliers: Actively collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to obtain crucial supporting information.
  • Evaluation of Items and Software/Technology: Applying expertise to evaluate items and Software/Technology, aligning them with military goods regulations and Annex I of the EU Dual Use Regulation.
  • Maintenance of SAP Material Master Data: Constantly monitoring changes in customs tariffs and export regulations, ensuring the maintenance of SAP material master data for a robust foundation of legal certainty.
  • Country of Origin Calculations for Internal Production: Conducting precise country of origin calculations for internally produced items, considering both origin and the value of production materials used.
  • Development and Management of INTRASTAT Reporting: Spearheading the development and management of INTRASTAT reporting processes, enhancing our commitment to compliance.
  • Communication with Authorities and Suppliers: Establishing effective communication channels with authorities such as BAFA and Customs, as well as collaborating closely with suppliers.
  • Evaluation of Items with US Origin: Expertly evaluating items with US Origin in accordance with the Export Administration Regulation (EAR) for compliance

Functie eisen

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Demonstrate teamworking skills with a proactive can-do attitude.
  • Exhibit good knowledge of export control, INTRASTAT, commodity codes, and origin rules.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of master data in the respected areas, considered advantageous.
  • Showcase proficiency in SAP, particularly in relevant domains, highlighting a solid grasp of the system.
  • Embrace a development-oriented mindset and maintain a proactive can-do attitude for continuous improvement.
  • Bring advantageous skills in supply chain and/or sales, contributing to a broader understanding of the role.
  • Communicate fluently in both German and English for effective collaboration and communication.
  • Recognize the importance of keeping promises to customers, reflecting a customer-centric mindset.
  • Hold a B.Sc. in engineering or a related field, providing a solid educational foundation.
